Create a personal folder linked to an external drive

Josh

I have recently switched companies and saved all e-mail to a "passport". Now
I am trying to create a "personal" folder linked to the external drive and am
having problems ... any suggestions?

Hi Josh,

1st: "Personal folder files are unsupported over a LAN or over a WAN link"
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/297019/en-us

2nd: Do you get a problem if you want to create a PST file with Outlook
under "File/New/Personal Folder (PST)"?

Here you can decide the path of the location of the PST file.

Depends how exactly you save your mail, if you saved it by copying the data
file or exporting to your external, then the resulting file is a Personal
Folders file.
Copy the resulting file to your Documents folder on your PC.
Then within Outlook, File>Open>Data File.......browse to that file
