Create a Word Document using a Template

Mehran Ziadloo

Hi
I'm just introduced to Office Automation and I'm looking for a way to create
a word document by filling the specified places of a template.
Consider that the final document is a report containing a table with
unspecified number of rows. The number of rows depends on the report itself.
So I want to have a template with a table which has its own style. And when
I create a report based on the template, my report's table looks like the
one in template. And I also want to let people to be able to create their
own templates and replace theirs with the one I created inorder to get their
desired result.
Now the question is "How?". I'm not sure if I know how to create the
template and what emelents I use in it to find them later to replace with
results. For example how can I mark the row that is going to be repeated (by
the number of results) to find it later in Automation?
I know I'm asking too much, sorry.

Thanks,
Mehran Ziadloo

The whole problem description is a bit foggy. It would help a lot if you'd
break it down into points/tasks... You also don't mention the version of Word
with which you need to work. I also can't tell if you've ever worked with Word
before, which makes it difficult to know at what level the discussion should
be carried out.

My gut feeling is that you should take a really close look at AutoText
entries.

Hi Mehran,
I will post a new message after I got Auto
Text, if I still need help.
Thank you so much.
You're welcome :) Best place to get a QUICK answer on
anything in the UI would be one of the end-user groups,
such as word.newusers (or whatever group is appropriate,
there are quite a few)
