Create and Save custom contours

I am ttying to create and save custom spread curves (contours) in MS Project
but cannot find a way to do so. It is not realistic to manually spread every
task that does not fit one of the default contours. Having 3,000 active
projects (state DOT) makes this task impossible to do.

Can anyone help? Also, downloading start and end dates for tasks to Excel
to accomplish this task will not be an acceptable answer. We are replacing a
legacy system with Project Server and several MS Project clients and would
love to not lose the ability to define and use custom contours.

Thank you in advance for any consideration you give this request.

If you are describing the Work Contours that are available in either the
Task Usage or Resource Usage views, you are limited to the following:

1. Double-click an assignment and then select one of the default Work
Contours.
2. Manually type the Work hours in the timephased grid.

There is no way to create a custom Work Contour and save it. Hope this
helps.
