Create appointment ?

Hi, I'm new to this OneNote stuff but love what I see so far. I've read the
documentation and searched online but can't seem to figure out how to copy
and paste the notes to the "subject" line of the appointment when I "create
an appointment". They always appear in the notes section of the appointment.
I can however, CUT them and paste to the subject line but I want them to
still also stay in OneNote and when I cut they're obviously deleted from
there.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Linda

Just to confirm - you're selecting a line or paragraph in OneNote, then going
to Tools | Create Outlook Item | Create <whatever>?

What you're seeing is expected behavior, although you're confirming what
seems to be inconsistent in that the selected text from OneNote appears in
both the subject line and in the notes field when creating a task, and only
appears in the notes field when creating an appointment or a contact.

The best workaround is to use the Tools menu to create the Outlook Appt
automatically, then *copy* and paste from the notes field to the subject line
in the Appointment.

Hi Erik - thanks for responding.
Yes you're correct - when I select either a line or part of a paragraph,
whatever, then go To Tools-Create Outlook Item - Create appointment, it
pastes ONLY as a note of an appointment. I have to copy and then paste to
the subject line to get it there, or as you suggested just "create outlook
appointment automatically" from tools menu and then cut and paste from the
notes section to the subject line. I was just hoping there would be an
quicker solution so that whatever I pasted would go into the subject line to
save a couple of steps.

P.S. I didn't understand your part about the "tasks" - I haven't tried
pasting anything there yet....

Thanks again,
Linda

Try creating an Outlook Task using the same procedure - notice how the
selected text is *also* in the Task's subject line? That's all I was
pointing out.

Creating the OL objects as described and copy/pasting text into the subject
is the only workaround. It can be made quicker if you use the KB shortcuts
for navigating and selecting text, and for using the clipboard...
