create backup of office 2007

When I purchased my trial conversion of MS office 2007, I did the download
and was instructed on the purchase site to back up the software after it
installed in case of future issues. I haven't been able to find any
instructions on this and don't see any way to do that other than a normal
full system backup.

How do I do this?

You need to back up the file you downloaded, the installer for the software,
not the software as installed.

Burn the .iso file to a disk.

What ISO file. When you download the installation program for Office it is
downloaded as an EXE file, not ISO.

Strange. My d/l of Office 2007 was an .iso file that I burned as an image.

There are some versions of Office that can be downloaded as an .ISO file
which is designed to be burned onto a CD or DVD. It can't be opened without
burning to the disk appropriately. The way I read the OP's original message
is that they downloaded the trial that is converted with the purchased key.
That download would have been an .EXE file. Now if that particular "backup"
site downloads the .ISO you are correct.

Personally I would never purchase a trial conversion as it is almost always
more expensive and troubling to complete than purchasing a retail product
with disk from a company like Amazon or Newegg, etc.
