Create complex graphics in Visio 2007 to use in PowerPoint 2007

What happened to the ability to cut and paste complex geometric shapes from
Visio into PowerPoint? Used to be you could paste, then right-click, choose
Visio object and Convert, now you have to Paste Special, embed Visio object,
then right-click, choose Visio object, convert and nothing happens. I have a
need to introduce accurate elements created in Autocad or Visio that aren't
easy to create or modify in PowerPoint. This used to work now it doesn't. A
workaround would be fine, but pasting the object as a picture gives me no
control.

Powerpoint 2007 is defaulting to pasting Visio objects as Pictures. If you
perform a Paste Special in Powerpoint, you will have the option of pasting
your Visio objects natively, which will allow you to convert them as you
wish.
