Create Custom Fills

R

robo1991

Sorry for the delay in this. November was a bad month.

One example that someone wanted was to create was sponge effect. Creating a
bunch of circles with varying sizes overlapping each other. She wanted to
take a portion/cut of it and use it as a fill.

Thanks

For Visio 2007;
Turn on the Drawing Explorer - Drawing Explorer from the View Menu
Righ Click Fill Patterns and choose New Pattern...
Give it a name and leave the Behaviour as tiled
Under the Fill Patterns, right click your new pattern and chose Edit Pattern
Shape
Now when you select a shape and chose a Fill Pattern, your new pattern will
be at the end of the list.

If you are planning overlapping shapes, make sure that what ends on the
right edge is continued on the left edge (the same on the top and bottom)

Also, any thing that is coloured black on the fill pattern will take the
pattern colour. So if you want something to be black in the fill pattern use
a colour that is almost black. (So rather than RGB of 0,0,0 use RGB 0,0,1 or
1,0,0)
To set the RGB colour, select the drop down next to the colour and chose
More Colors... at the bottom. Then select the Custom tab. You can then enter
the colours as RGB values.
