Create HTML in MSProject 2003 Service Pak3

Hojo

Anyone know why after installing Service Pak3 our users can no longer Export
to Web? As soon as I remove Service Pak3 it works again.

Obviously, I want Service Pak3 because of the security updates, but can't
figure out what in Service Pak 3 is causing this.

Any thoughts much appreciated!

Thanks,

Hello Hojo,

With SP-3 installed, try changing the setting for "Legacy file
formats" on the Security tab to "allow loading...." and see if that
allows the export to occur.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

JulieS - Thank you for the reply, however when I go to Tools>Options and the
Security tab, my only options are to change the Macro Security or Remove
Information from file properties on Save. I can't find anything anywhere
regarding Legacy systems. I probably should have clarified, but I am using
MSProject Professional with Service Pak2.

Any further information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Hojo

Hello Hojo,

I thought you had installed SP-3? I suggest installing service pack 3
to Project. I run Project Pro 2003 with SP-3 in Windows XP SP-3 and
have no difficulties. The settings for legacy file formats are
Project 2003 SP-3.

Okay, now I'm confused -- it doesn't take much. To summarize:

You have Project Professional 2003 installed.
You have SP-3 installed to Project - when you check Help > About
Microsoft Office Project it says SP3 after the release number?

You note in your original post that you had SP-3 installed and removed
it. According to
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/923622

SP-3 for Project cannot be removed.

Sorry for the confusion - I removed SP3 and it worked, but our systems are
setup to find computers that haven't been updated and replace the updates.
So the very next day Service Pak3 was put back on the system.

What I have found so far is that if I remove patch KB948962/part of Service
Pak 3, this solves the issue. But I don't want our entire network to go
without that patch. I also know that if we do
http://download.microsoft.com/download/2/8/B/28B644CE-9A30-4D99-AFEF-830A4FB5B839/UnblockWord.reg.
This fixes the issue with Word when creating a Web Page, I am just waiting
to verify if that will possibly fix MS Project as well.?

I guess my question now is - if this doesn't fix MSProject - then is there
another download from microsoft that anyone is aware of that would fix
Project?

Hi Hojo,

With service pack 3 applied to Project, do you see the option on the
Security tab to allow loading of legacy file formats? Can you please
confirm through Help About that you have SP3 for Project applied. Not
just SP3 for Office? In control panel with "Show updates" enabled in
Add/Remove Programs, I show two separate listings for SP3 one for
office "Office 2003 Service Pack 3 MainSP3" installed in March and
another listing under Project Office Professional titled "Project 2003
Service Pack 3 (SP3):projectSP3 also installed in March. I also show
the security update (kb948962) and security update for office 2003
(KB921598).

Again, with both the security update referenced in KB 948962 and
service pack 3 applied to MS Project, I have no difficulties saving as
HTML as long as the option, Allow loading of legacy file formats is
enabled. My version of Project (from Help > About):
Microsoft Office Project Professional 2003 (11.3.2007.1529.15) SP3

I am unfamiliar with the "Unblock word" issue you note so I can't say
whether this will fix Project or not. I doubt it.

I'm sorry, I don't know what else to suggest. Perhaps someone else
can weigh in with some ideas.
