Create Link To SQL Server Table

Forgive my ignorance about this, I may not even be asking the right questions.

Through the remote connection program shipped with Windows XP I am able to
log into the machine holding the SQL Server and execute queries on the
database.

What I want to do is just have a tool with a link to this table so I can
execute queries and pull reports using live up to the minute data.

I have tried going through control panel/admin tools/data sources

I have tried linking through an .MDB

I have tried by installing the SQL Server Front end from MS Office PRO 2003,
creating an .ADP and then creating a connection, all have failed.

I think I probably do not know what to connect to and/or do not have
priviledges, although since I have the login and password to get in through
the remote connection I assume I do.

Any advice, directions or solutions would be appreciated much.

Thank you

If you cannot connect from MDB or ADP, then a possible explanation would be
that you are blocked by an intermediary firewall.

You should ask this question to the network administrator or provide more
details on your installation.
