create my own gift certificate template

Hi, I'm trying to help a friend you just opened her own business and as a
gift to her I would like to design and print personalized gift certificates
for her business. I don't care for any of the ones I've been suggested so I'm
looking for help on how to go about creating my own template; can anyone
guide me in the right direction?

I appreciate anyone's help, thanks,

Start with one of the templates and then apply your creativity. Even if you
wipe everything out except for the size.
