Create new building block for boilerplate text

V

Vicky

I am using Word 2007 and would like to create some boilerplate text. I would
then like to use those building blocks with other future documents. Shoudl I
jsut add it to the Normal save in location? Also, I woudl ultimately like to
share this with other people in my office, if possible.

I am pretty sure this includes saving the building blocks as a template but
I woudl appreciate your help in the detaisl of how to accomplish this.
Thank you!

One more question - should I use Quick Parts or Auto Text gallery for this
sort of thing?

There are about a zillion ways to do this. You might have to say a bit more
about your needs/situation/preferences to get a specific answer.

Is the boilerplate (repetitively used portion more like just a piece of
text (e.g. a paragraph) or a document?

Is there one boilerplate, or are you looking to set up a buffet of
biolerplates?

If it's one, does most of your Word use involve that particular boilerplate?

Are you looking to use lower tech simple method or a sophisticated-looking
method?

THank you! I have several document templates that may contain paragraphs of
text that are repeatedly used depending on the receipient, and other factors
There are several of these "boilerplates" per document.

My concern is that I could create quick parts - autotext by selecting the
text from existing docs, but I will then have a list of quickparts to select
from that could be fairly large. The way quickparts are displayed, each one
gets a substaintial piece of screen realestate. I am wondering if there is
a way to organize the images of the quickparts so that the ones I use most
frequently are at the top of the window?
