Create new Project Server and copy old

LEN

Hi. I already setup a test environment for Project Server 2003 in
Machine A while waiting for the actual machine to be used. Now that the
actual machine came in, I plan to install Project Server 2003 in it and
trasfer data of Machine A to actual machine.

Can you please guide me on what's the most efficient way to do it?

Is it possible that the current URL of existing Project Server be used
in actual machine? Is there a way to do it? I would like to retain the
existing URL.

Thanks.

If you aren't also trying to move a lot of WSS data, it's fairly easy. You
need to backup system A and restore to system B using a move. Once you've
done this, you'll need to add the system B MSProjectServerUser and
MSProjectUser to the restored database giving them the correct roles. Beyond
that, you'll need to update connections to WSS and Analysis Services. There
are other variables you may encounter depending on what your test platform
looks like in relation to your target system.
