Create New Project using Enterprise Global Template

L

Liz Turner

I am trying to create a new project using the Enterprise
global template. I have edited the template and want all
of my new projects to be based on this template but
following the Project 2002 by Que it says to go File > New
General Templates and select the Enterprise template
tab - I don't have an enterprise template tab. In the MS
Project Help it says that the enterprise global template
is the default template opened for new projects from
Project server - if I'm logged into to Project Server and
try to create a new project the standard template opens
not the Enterprise one that I have edited. Anyone have any
input on what I'm missing or doing wrong? Thanks

If you are connected to the server then if you look in the organizer
(tools->organizer) if global + (cached enterprise) is on the left then the
'new project' template is a copy of it. it is not called global because for
that you have to check out the Ent global template.
The new project has to have its own template (copied from global) because
you could not check in the project since the global is not checked out.
