create new record on date.

I am keeping track of two logs for my clients. One is a weekly log,
generated every monday. The other is a monthly log, generated on the first
of each month. the fields are irrelevant, i just need a blank record
generated with the correct date.

All i want to do is have a new record automatically generated with the
appropriate date. If its a weekly record have Mondays date dd/mm/yy and the
same for the monthly record. All other fields should be blank, the only
field i want besides the client ID is the date.

so a new record should be automatically generated for each of my clients on
the appropriate date. sounds simple but im having trouble finding the
correct answer for this.

any help is much appreciated.
