How do I add the WBS field as an input capable field in the Create New Task
Dialogue?

Lars,
Please check the "display outline number" option in Tools > Option menu to
display WBS code.

Hi,
There is no direct way by which one can add WBS field in the create new task
dialog.
However you can make the field appear and check the value of WBS by adding
WBS field in the timesheet of the resources.
This can be done by making use of published fields.

Sorry,
does not make any difference. The field WBS is still not available as an
input field in Create New Task in Project Web Access.

Yes, already done that. Does not help much if there is no way of making it
input capable!!
