Create new views, export to Excel

R

Reuter

Using MSProject 2003ent

I've noticed that some of my views (PWA) can be exported to Excel and others
can't. Is there something that needs to be set in order to allow a custom
view (manage views) to be exported to Excel?

Perhaps you could tell us which Views you cannot export in PWA, and what is
unique about them. Then perhaps we can advise you. Let us know.

Sorry, Views in (view type - Project Center) can be exported to Excel and
views within (view type - Project) will not export. All views created within
Project Center and Project use the same fields. I don't see anything that
would make the view react differently. I thought maybe there was a simple
setting/trick which allow access to excel. Sorry if I can't explain in more
detail but I don't see a differance between views that export and views that
don't.

I cannot duplicate your problem. When you say you can't export, what do you
mean precisely? Do you get an error message? If so, what error message?
Without knowing that, I'm poking around in the dark. Let us know and we
will try to help.

Dale,

When export to excel works, I will click export to excel then an ActiveX
box will appear and all is well. The problem I'm seeing is when I click on
export to excel I will get a message on bootom of the "IE" page which reads "
Error on Page." the error looks as if it being generated from IE.

Hmmm. I have no idea what is causing that problem. Perhaps someone else in
the newsgroup has an idea for you. Sorry I can't be more help.
