create objects glued/connected to other objects

Hello

Can somebody tell me if this is possible (and perhaps give me some sample
code).

I have severals rooms on a page, all uniquely identified with a number. I
have also a database with products (orders). The orderline contains the
roomnumber and a product. I want to programmaticaly create the objects in
that room and "glue/connect" them to a specific place in the room (this
place is also stored in the database (very basis left/right/top/bottom). Of
course the orders can change and then i need to remove all the orders from
the rooms (or just delete the layer that contains the orders ??) and re-add
them.

Any tips are welcome!
