does excel use 'Pseudo-random number streams'??

2nd question. I am having trouble creating my set of
distribution data.

I do know there are such function in "Data Analysis -
Random number generation"; however, the choice of
distribution is limited. I want to generate about 500
figures of lognormal distribution data. I have used the
function 'lognormdist to no success, eg. lognormdist (rand
(),3,10).
Figures Im getting are along closely indentical, eg
0.3XXX.

LOGNORMALDIST() evaluates the cumulative lognormal distribution at a
point, so it's not surprising that the returned values should be close
together when the values you're providing are between 0 and 1.
