Create shape with curve and fill

I'm trying to create a shape with three straight lines and one curved line.
I want to group or combine these lines in order to fill the shape with color.
I have tried grouping them, but when I try to assign a fill, the program
wants to fill only the curve. Advice please!

Use the freeform drawing tool, create some guidelines for the straight lines. If
the drawing isn't exactly how you want it to look, right-click the shape, edit
points. It is a trial and error thing.

An alternative to Mary's advice would be to use a dedicated Draw program,
which is designed for this kind of task.
