Create slideshow plus narration

I'm helping a family member create a family tree using PPT. He has already
placed pictures in the presentation along with text. He wants to add his
voice reading the text and have the slideshow automatically advance to the
next picture when he is finished reading the text for that particular
picture. Is there a place where I can read about the way to do this? Is there
an explanation about how to set this up for him. I don't have PPT myself, but
I am able to use most programs. I want it to be easy for him. He thought he
had added voice and now doesn't think the voice is there except on the first
one although he saved it. There must be an explanation of steps to create
this somewhere on the net, I just haven't found it.

To do this

Prepare the mic etc

Select "Record Narration" in the Slide Show menu

The show will run, speak the narrative advancing the slides as required.

Press esc when finished and choose the option to save with timings

Done!
