Create "table" in Excel

Bill

I have tried for several hours to link a drawing to an Excel spreadsheet.
Every time one of the "wizards" asks for the name of a table in Excel. I try
to create a new table by typing in either the name of a sheet or a range but
the "wizard" says that database object doesn't exist. I don't think I'm that
dumb but after several hours I give up. Anyone know how to do this?

Have you tried creating the spreadsheet in Excel first, then linking
to it?

Yes the data are already in Excel in a named range. But when I try and link
from Visio, it can't find the named range or "table"

Well, something sounds very confused, are you entering the name of the
Excel file first, you haven't mentioned that yet.

Are you using Visio 2007 Professional? This would be Data > Link Data to
Shapes, then choose Excel and work through the wizard.
