Hi,
Does anyone know how to get rid of that "Create Your
Drawing Here" area that appears when you choose an item
from the Drawing menu, or try to inster a text box? It
never did it on Office 2000.

Hi Anthony,

The Drawing Canvas in Office XP is the inbuilt
replacement for the MS Draw 98 addin from Office 2000.
You can turn off the drawing canvas default through Word in
Tools=>Options=>General and still use it from
Insert=>Picture=>New Drawing.
