Created TOC and saved to HTML but links look silly...

Hi,

I have a TOC like this done in word with numbered lists:

1. asdasd
2. asdasd
3. asdasd
4. asdasd
4.1. asdasd
4.1.1. asdasd
4.1.2. asdasd
4.1.3. asdasd
4.1.4. asdasd
4.1.5. asdasd
4.2. asdasd
4.2.1. asdasd
4.2.2. asdasd
4.2.3. asdasd

But strangely, when I save them to HTML Filtered, word auto-magically links
those to #_Toc88259050 like I see them as ...../asdasd.htm#_Toc88259050 on
my web browser.

The question is:

How do I make word to set hyperlinks to those documents like #4.1.3 instead
of #_Toc88259050

Thanks in advance.

This would involve more manual labor. The _Toc-numbers are what Word
automatically generates to link a TOC to "headings" in a document. There's no
way to change how Word does this.

You'd need to manually create bookmarks for each "target" (selecting all the
text you want to see in the TOC). Then manually create cross-references to
these bookmarks (= TOC).

Can you explain it in some more detail please? My english is not that
perfect :p

Specifying some english menu names and providing me a small walkthru example
could be okay.

By the way, can you name me some alternative applications for doing this
automatically?

Thanks in advance.

Select the first line of text you want to appear in the TOC. Go to
Insert/Bookmark and assign a bookmark name (what you want to see in the
Hyperlink).

Now go to where you want the "TOC" and use Insert/Reference/Cross Reference.
Choose "Bookmarks" from the list where you usually select "Headings" or
"Numbered items". Make sure the checkbox for Hyperlinking is activated. Now
insert a cross-reference to the bookmark (for the entire text plus number).

Test exporting to HTML.
