OK, I create word documents here at home and E-mail them to work, they are
however unreadable. How do I solve this issue please. I THINK work has
Windows nt 2000 professional (or something like that).

Yes, that's a critical piece of information!

In Word 2007 you can choose to save the documents in "Word 97-2003" format
as *.doc files, which the older programs can read. If you don't choose that
format specifically, Word 2007 uses the new *.docx format, which the older
programs don't recognize.

Alternatively, if you're allowed to install software on your work PC, you
can download the Awareness update and the Compatibility Pack at
http://www.microsoft.com/office/preview/beta/converter.mspx. That will let
the older programs read and write the new format.

I've tried it with no success (saving as a 97-03 word doc) and I'm afraid installing anything on the work's PC is a no go.

Thanks for the reply, already tried that and it didn't work. Unable to install anything at work I'm afraid.
