CreateDate Field in Template

I have used CreateDate Field in a template so the creation date will be
entered automatically but it will retain this date when accessed in future.
This is not happening. When any document is open the date updates to the
current date? Please could anyone help??

The field is showing exactly what it should: the date the document (not the
template) is created. If you want it to show some arbitrary date, enter that
date as a document property in the template and use a DocProperty field.
