CreateObject results in 'Run-time error 70 Permission denied'

A few Word and Excel macros have previously worked fine, but suddenly
one user is not able to run the macros. Trying to call CreateObject
results in 'Run-time error 70 Permission denied'. The funny thing is I
can't browse security events, even if I'm logged on as the local
administrator. I've made no changes to the policies, local or domain.
Any ideas?

Seeing as this appears to be a problem with Windows permissions ("can't
browse security events...), I'd try asking this in a Windows newsgroup.
