Creating a custom column to show variance between two date fields?

B

Bill Fuller

I would like to create a custom column that will show the variance (in days)
between an estimated finish date and a baseline date, but don't have a clue
on how to do this. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to do this or
locate info that would be helpful.

Hi,

Insert
Column
Duration1
OK
Tools
Customize
Fields
Select Duration1 (if not already selected)
Click the word Formula
Click Function
Date/Time
Click ProjDateDiff
Replace date1 by the name of the start field f.i.
[Finish7]
Replace date2 by the end field f.i. [Date8]
if you want the difference to be in working days along the project calendar
wipe out ;calendar
OK, OK, etc.

God Luck
