creating a custom dictionary with bacteeria names

How can I create a custom dictionary of bacterial names to share with
other microbiologists? The names (Genus, species) are in italics and
have been unable to preserve the format (italics) using the custom.doc.
Is this possible?

A custom dictionary has to do with spelling only, not formatting. You could
save the names as AutoText or AutoCorrect entries, in both of which cases
you could save them formatted. And it's custom.dic, BTW, not custom.doc.

Sorry about the typo, you are correct, it is custom.dic.

I have a list with 50,000 names in a Word doc. Can I import the list
into Autotext or Autocorrect?
