Creating a Data Access Page using the wizard

I am trying to create a data access page for the first time. I am using the
wizard in Access 2000. Everything seems straight forward but when I click
Finish it tells me that the wizard was unable to create the access data page.

I selected a simple table with 2 text fields, added both fields, skipped
over the grouping and sorting. I've tried different tables, different
computers and different operating systems (XP & Vista).

Help pls.
