creating a date function/format

how do you create a function for a column that allows you to enter a date,
(without spaces or separaters - 121504) into a cell and they are
automatically formatted into a date (12/15/04)?

you need VBA for this. Try the following addin:

This will make it LOOK like a Date, but it will not be an actual Date, and
you will be unable to do Date calculations with it:
Create and use the following Number Format:
00"/"00"/"00
