Creating a FireFox plugin

Can anybody point me in the right direction to create a plugin for FireFox
(like the IE power toy)? I think I can sort out the FireFox side of things,
but I don't know how to communicate with OneNote via JavaScript to give
OneNote the text to paste and the URL it came from. Ideally I'd like the
pasting behaviour to be exaclty the same as when you drag and drop from IE to
OneNote, but using a toolbar/menu item instead of drag and drop (I'd like to
have it do drag and drop, but I think that's a bit beyond my resources).

Thanks for the reply. The SDK link looks like it's got everything I need. I
just have to figure out how to instantiate that class from FireFox javascript
now...
