Creating a form and data outside of InfoPath

I am able to build the CAB file containing an InfoPath form, the XML data
file, and other files used by InfoPath. Where to I add references so that the
form uses the the XML data file? I want the form to open with data loaded and
be able to move between data records using buttons. I'm also looking for
sample code that shows how I can move between data records stored in an XML
file.
