I am try to create a few forms with Word and I have followed the
directions in the help menu, but cannot get the results I need. I want
to create a simple form that when I open it, the cursor will be at the
first blank field and I and then tab to next blank field. Am I asking
to much from Word? Any suggestions wpould be great.

I'm not sure you're looking at the right Help as Word (MS) refers to what
you are creating as 'OnLine' Forms. Even if you found the right stuff you
may also want to take a look at the information available here:

http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/TblsFldsFms/LinesInForms.htm

Even though it is PC Word oriented the material applies to Mac Word as well.
You may have to click your browser's Refresh button once or twice to load
the page.

I work as a marine surveyor, and write my reports using a boilerplate
that I wrote years ago. Back in the good old days (Word 5, Mac 7.5.2),
I had a fill-in part where it would go through and fill in the
customer's name, boatname, date, all that sort of stuff, for me in one
shot. When I upgraded (is that the right word?) to word 2004/Mac
10.3.9, my fill-in form stopped working, and I've NEVER been able to
figure out Microsoft's instructions for setting up a fill-in form in
word 2004.
What might be very useful would be if somebody has figured out how this
works, if they'd be willing to paste a tiny word document that has a
working fill-in form in it, so that less intelligent people can see how
it is set up, and maybe even just cut and paste essential bits into
other documents.
That's how I used to make fill-in forms in Word 5, simply by cutting
and pasting. But maybe this has become too advanced for that?
