Creating a form

I am creating a form in word and in the properties of a text field are
selections such as Uppercase, Lowercase, first capitol. etc. When I select
one of them and return to the form to use it the properties are not applied
to the field.

What am I doing wrong? Can anyone tell me how to correct this?

Did you protect the form and then tab out of the form field after you typed
in it? You won't see the properties applied until you exit the field.
