Creating a Grouped Rank Function Field

I am having problems figuring out how I can assign certain records
into a quartile based on a field. I have 75 years of data, and I have
52 companies every year. I want to assign those companies into
quartiles based off of another field. Any ideas how to create another
fireld with this quartile identifier?

In Excel I used a combination of the RANK and IF function to assign
it, but I dont think access has a "rank function"

Any ideas?
