Creating a letter

I created a database for customers. When searching a record we notice that
this individual has not paid his bill. Is there a way to generate a letter
to be sent to the individual whose record we are viewing.
I created a letter in word and inserted a hyperlink in the form used to
input data. The hyperlink brings up the form letter, but I would like to
populate the letter with the information contained in the form the user was
looking at when they hit the hyperlink button.
I hope this is not too confusing and any help would be appreciated.
