Creating a link to slides in existing document

Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) Processor: Intel I am trying to create links in the same document to other slides. For instance, the main page has a 'map' and by clicking on text or shapes, it will lead you to a specific slide in the document with information.

When I insert the link, it asks me to find the document, and then asks me to choose the anchor for the specific location. I can't figure out how to do that. Do I just type in p. 3 for page three?

You'll find it easier to use Slide Show> Action Buttons or Slide Show>
Action Settings. You'll find detail in PPT Help on the topic:

Insert a navigation button

To add a bit to Bob's suggestion, any shape can be assigned an action
setting; it doesn't have to be an action button. In other words, you
can draw a polygon or other shape over the country, state or whatever
on your map, then assign that an action setting of Hyperlink To: Slide
