Creating a new Default Workspace

Hello,

I'm sure this must be straight-forward, but PS 2007 is not behaving as I
would expect.

I'm trying to copy an existing Project Workspace to make it the default
template for all new Project Workspaces. To do this I'm carrying out the
following actions:
1) In the Project Workspace I want to copy I go to Site Actions -> Site
Settings
2) I click on the Save Site as Template link
3) I give the template a filename, a name and a brief description. I do
want content so I check the approoriate check-box and click OK.
4) I now navigate back to PWA and click on Server Settings
5) I click on Select Workspace Provisioning Settings and would expect my
saved Workspace to be available in the Default Project Workspace template
drop-down, but it is not!

I suspect I'm missing a step somewhere that might involve that filename I
have to create. Can anyone tell me what it is?

Thank you,

Jonathan

Hello Jonathan,

You might want to check out the article on MSDN on how to extend the default
workspace template
http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms503640.aspx

Please keep in mind that in Project Server 2007 you cannot base template off
an existing Project Workspace, you will need to provision a new site based
on the default template and then modify that template and save and upload it
using stsadm.exe for it to be available in the project workspace
provisioning page.

Regards,
Dave
