Creating a number of Hyperlinks one after another.

I have a large number of text files that I scanned into different folders
such as, essays, newspaper articles etc.

I saved the files by name followed by the date I wrote them. It was only
when I tried to add an extra field to the file name so that I could sort them
by name or the date written that I discovered it was not possible because I
have never needed to do this exercise before.

I know that I could copy the folder and then change the file titles from
starting with their name to starting with the date that they were written but
that would mean doubling up a number of very large folders and I don’t want
to do that.

Then a kind person told me that I could do what I wanted if I used Excel and
the Hyperlink process which is great even though there is a bit of cutting
and pasting to do.

There is one problem and that is that I have to go through the following
process for every file:

1. Right click and open Hyperlink.

2. Click onto “My Documents to find the folder.

3. Click onto the folder to bring the files up.

4. Click onto OK and the file name comes up on Excel and I cut and paste
the different fields that I want to sort by.

Now, that all very well as far as it goes but I have to go through the whole
process for each separate file and the question is:

Is it possible to effect the creation of a number Hyperlinks at the same
time to save having to go through that laborious process?
