Creating a Resource Pool

S Williams

I am trying to import resources on a Project I created in MS Project into the
Enterprise resource pool. The option to do this in the tools menu is grayed
out and I can't do it this way. I also can't update the resource pool on the
tools menu under resource sharing. It is grayed out as well.

I have created the project and am set as an administrator in Project
Central. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Before you can log into Project Server through Microsoft Project
Professional, you must create a login account. Here's how:

1. Launch Microsoft Project Professional
2. Click Tools - Enterprise Options - Microsoft Office Project Server
Accounts
3. Click the Add button
4. Enter an Account Name for the login account, such as "Project Server
Administrator"
5. Enter the URL for Your Project Server instance
6. Click the Test Connection button to verify if valid Project Server
connnection
7a. If you want to use the built-in Administrator account, select the "Use
a Project Server account" option and enter "Administrator" (without quotes)
in the User Name field
7b. If you are using your Windows user account, select the "Use Windows
user account" option
8. Select the "Set as default account" option and click OK
9. Select the "Manually control connection state" option and click OK
10. Close Microsoft Project Professional and then relaunch the software
11. Click the Connect button

You will now be able to access the enterprise features in question. Hope
this helps.
