Creating a Resource View

(MSPS 2003) Is it possible to create a resource based view and pre-populate
the view with only selected resources -then save that view so everytime it is
accessed, the same resoruces appear? We have a view that different
managers want to use - but do not want to go through the ERP (which contains
500+ people) and add their team members each time they look at the view.
Very time consuming.

Any ideas?

You'll need to think about some sort of filter for this, by creating an
enterprise custom resource field and then using that to create the relevant
view(s)

Ben -

That is an approach I am looking at. Specifically, we want the project
owners to track what resources have entered time, but have not yet submitted
it in MSPS. The filtered code you refer to would be an Enterprise Resource
Code (which we do have in place) - but these are not available for use within
assignment views. I am using the Task Summary View - but, unless I am
missing something, the project managers will still need to select the
resources on an individual basis. Any afterthoughts?

This will work precisely how we want it to....
Looking forward to seeing you in Washington at the conference...

Look at the following FAQ for an approach that I think would work exactly
the way you want:

http://www.projectserverexperts.com/Shared Documents/Determinetimesheetcompliance.htm

This approach uses the Save Link feature that will allow your PM's to select
a specific group of resources, and then save the View so they don't have to
re-select the resources. Hope this helps.

You are more than welcome, my friend! I taught a class in Knoxville, TN
today and told them about your question and my answer. They, like you, were
pleased to see and use this Save Link functionality on the View Resource
Assignments page. See you in Seattle! :)
