Creating a 'Scheduling Calendar' - ideas?

J

John Z.

i would like to create in access 97 a way to duplicate the
scheduling that one would typically write on a paper
calendar or in outlook. this would show multiple people
working at various jobs each day and would be shared on
the network. i would prefer to have a form that would
look a 30 day month with each 'field' being one day. the
user could possibly drag and drop a person from one day to
another day if needed.

my general tables;
jobs (site locations)
emp (shows different skills)
date

is this possible in access?

Surely. There are some schedule examples around (though I don't have
references or links). Most experienced people, however, suggest using
Outlook, or searching to find a freeware or inexpensive scheduling program,
rather than going to the effort to create a new one.

Access is not at all strong on "drag and drop". That is usually done with a
couple of list boxes, but your needs will require more than just the normal
two-list-box techniques. That might be the most difficult part.

It's not really clear to me just what you want in the way of a user
interface. Perhaps if you clarified what you have and what you want to
accomplish in a bit more detail, someone could make specific suggestions.

Please clarify here in the newsgroup, not by e-mail.
