Creating a Template (Part II) w/Word 2008?

Norm

Is this tutorial applicable to Word 2008.

I got through some/most of Clive's "Bend Word...." and now I was trying
to learn more about Styles and I started with this tutorial but when I
got to the printer section they didn't seem to apply.

Thanks for any tips.

Sorry, Norm, I'm afraid you've lost me on this one :) the only tutorial on
Style in Word 2008 Help includes no reference to 'printers' at all -- nor is
there any reason why it should. Styles & printers have no connection to one
another. Can you provide a more informative description of what the specific
problem is & exactly where it is that you're finding the information you're
referring to?

Hi Norm:

Yes, that article applies directly to Word 2008 as well as every other
version of Word later than Word 97.

However, in each version of Word, Microsoft moves some things around, adds
things and takes things away.

So when you are reading the article (which was written around Word 97) you
need to put the thinking cap on, and use the Word Help to find the functions
that have moved :)

Cheers

I believe I see what's causing the fog :)

In Mac Word most of what John's article refers to is located in Format>
Document where you'll also find a button for the Page Setup dialog.

Page Setup itself is accessible directly from the File Menu as well, but
doesn't contain all the same stuff referred to in the article & doesn't
provide a jump to Format> Document... However, if you open the top list
[Settings:] in Page Setup, select Microsoft Word, then click the Margins
button it will take you to the Format> Document dialog. That's a distinction
between Mac/PC user interface which [IIRC] took place some versions due to
OS X guidelines, it isn't new to Word 2008.

Also, when you come across references to Print Options in the article: There
is no access to the Mac equivalent from either Format Document or Page
Setup, but those settings are available in Word> Preferences> Print.
