Creating a thumbnail from word document

Hi,
I am developing an add-in for word, an would like to give the user the
abillity to create an Thumbnail of the first page of the document an save it
as jpg.

I googled alot around, and tried some stuff out, but I was not able to
create an Thumbnail.
Is there a way to do this?
