Creating a trackable diary

Hi. I'm trying to take an actual "paper diary" of the jobs that each
employee does every day and turn it into a database that I can search on
later. Not sure how to get started. Would theoretically like to have each
employee come up and then put the information in for each job that they did
each day. Does that make sense?

Start with pencil/paper and diagram what you want

Employee - Name, Department, etc

Jobs - Title, Date, Account, Description (this is really minimum)

Design COULD be...

Employee Joe
Job Change Tire
7-21-08
Owner Car
Remove cut tire and install new tire
Job Wax Car
7-22-08
Sale Car 1
Wash and Wax

Employee Bill
and so on...

You really need to start by making a PAPER document that lays out
the work process that is being done... and THEN work on building
a database to computerize what you are doing
