Creating a web link in an email

hello out there. Happy new year.

i would like to be able to send an email with a link to a web address
that can be clicked on by the person who receives it and their browser
opens up and takes them there, instead of how it is now with them
copying the link and pasting it into their browser.
How can i do this?

On the flip side is there anyway for me to set up entourage so that
when i receive an email with a link i can click on it and my browser
will open up and take me there without having to copy and then paste it
into my browser?

i have Office for Mac 2004 running Entourage 11.2.1 specifically. My
default browser is Safari 2.0.2

thank you.

Include the 'http' protocol like this:

If the sender has not included the http protocol, Entourage will not
recognise it as a URL, however, you can still cmd-click on it to open it in
the browser.

in Outlook you just highlight the word you want to act as the link and
choose "hyperlink" here you can enter the url.

ctrl + click is MACs right click I think, does this not work in Entourage?

No, unfortunately, you can't do it that way in Entourage, to the dismay of
many, many posters in this newsgroup. Phil, what Barry has said remains
true; however, there are ways in which you can have masked hyperlinks in
Entourage. One way is to use Word (if you're talking about Office 2004; it
won't work in earlier versions). Compose your email messages in Word, create
your hyperlinks (select the text, then hit Cmd+K), and when you're done,
select File>Send To>Mail Recipient (As HTML).

One other solution would be to use Paul Berkowitz' free AppleScript "Make
Hyperlinks X," which you can find here:
http://scriptbuilders.net/files/makehyperlinksx2.2.1.html
You should find the instructions in the readme file, though it's fairly
straightforward.

Either contact the author (Paul Berkowitz) via email, or wait till he shows
up here, since he is a frequent contributor to this newsgroup.
