Creating additional Workflows with Project Server 2007

Hi

I'm looking to clarify my understanding re this....

Reference from
http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms504195.aspx#pj12_Programmability_Workflow

'If Office SharePoint Server 2007 is available, Project Server enables the
Project Proposal approval workflow. System administrators and developers can
create additional workflows using Microsoft Office SharePoint Designer 2007
or Microsoft Visual Studio 2005'

Does this mean that Sharepoint Designer can be used to create non code
workflows where MOSS is installed but not when a plain WSS situation exists.

I have found that Sharepoint Designer 2007 does not work with WSS when
attempting to create workflows but haven't tried yet with Project Server
sites running with MOSS

Advice appreciated

Hi Brian,

SharePoint Designer DOES work with WSS to create non code workflows. With
MOSS you can create non code workflows even without SharePoint Designer
through the site settings options of lists and libraries. It is this
feature that does not work out of the box for WSS.

Also you cannot create non-code workflows that interact with projects as the
Proposals workflow does even if MOSS is installed.

Please note that you cannot connect to a PWA site with Designer - but you
can connect and create workflows on document libraries and lists in Project
Workspaces even if only WSS 3.0 is installed.

Best regards,

Brian.

Hi Brian,
Here's a really dumb question. My systems admin can't figure out which
folder to set up as shared so I can use SharePoint Designer 2007 to create
additional workflows. We have a test environment set up with MOSS and
Project Server 2007. We are using PWA. What else do you need to know to
point us in the right direction? I can't figure out what to tell him either
from the documentation and books I've read so far.

All help is appreciated, TIA.
