I'm guessing this is a really stupid question, since I can't seem to find
any documentation or questions related to it, but:
I am an extreme newbie to using InstallShield, and the last Access project I
rolled out was created with the Access97 ODE tools. I now have an Access
2003 application I need to distribute. I have Access 2003 Professional
edition, and have installed the developer extensions, which I believe grant
me licenses to distribute Access runtime.
I looked at the Package Wizard that comes with the developer extensions, but
my installation needs are a little more complicated than what that provides,
so I am trying to use InstallShield X (Express) to create a setup instead.
My hope was that the Access "merge module" would provide all the necessary
files for Access runtime, but I'm getting stymied before I can even create a
most basic test install.
When I select the "Access 2000/2002/2003" merge module in InstallShield, a
wizard pops up asking me for the path to the "Access 2000/2002/2003
Redistributable Windows Installer (*.msi) package", with a suggested file
name of "Data1.msi".
I haven't the FIRST idea what file I should be looking for, here. I've
searched my hard-drive for "msi" files, but nothing that looks like it has
anything to do with Access, and certainly no "Data1.msi" is anywhere to be
found.
Anyone happen to know what I'm missing here?
TIA.
