Creating an auto-updage in win98 and winXP

Hello,

I want to make an auto update for win98 and winXP that would check
c:\somefolder
and
www.mydomain.com\updates
and compaire all the file dates and if the server had a newer file or a file that the computer did not
it would download them and auto overight the existing files. Like mocrosts update or nortons update.

Can some one piont me in the right direction.
