Creating chart in new sheet

Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)

Want to create a new chart in a new sheet not on the same sheet as the data. Every time I select the data and chart it automatically creates the new chart but on the active worksheet. Can you help please?

For some reason that has been designed in as the default behavior.

Once you insert the chart Control/Right-Click it & select the Move Chart
command (or access the command from the Chart menu). You can then designate
it as a Chart Sheet & name the sheet or send it to another existing sheet.

AFAIK there is no way the default can be changed to initially insert the
chart on a new chart sheet. However, you can use the Insert> Sheet> Chart
command first, then create the chart.
